Dr. Daniel Kammen, UC Berkeley professor and prominent energy efficiency expert, will be the guest speaker at the Piedmont League of Women Voters annual holiday luncheon on Wednesday, December 13th, 2017. The event will be held at the Piedmont Community Hall from 11:30 am to 1:30 p.m.
Dr. Kammen will speak from 11:30 am to 12:15 pm, followed by a catered lunch. The event is open to the public. There is no charge for Dr. Kammen's talk. Cost of the luncheon is $25 per person in advance, and $30 at the door.
Deadline for lunch reservations is Friday, December 8th, 2017. Reservations may be made via PayPal above (you do not need a PayPal account) or by check made out to to Piedmont League of Women Voters, mailed to Ward Lindenmayer, 40 Highland Ave., Piedmont, CA 94611.
More about Dr. Kammen:
Dr. Kammen holds positions at UC Berkeley as Professor of Public Policy at the Goldman School of Public Policy, Professor in the Energy and Resources Group and Director of the Renewable and Appropriate Energy Laboratory. He has served California and US governments in expert and advisory capacities. In 2010, he was tapped by the World Bank as Chief Technical Specialist for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency. In 2016, he was appointed by former President Obama as a science envoy to the State Department, where he served until his resignation in August 2017. He has founded or serves on boards of 10 companies, as well as on two National Academy of Sciences boards, and he is a Permanent Fellow of the African Academy of Sciences. Dr. Kammen has testified numerous times for state and federal congressional briefings and is a frequent contributor to or commentator on national and international media. He has authored or co-authored 12 books.
