Redistricting: Learn, Take Action
October 4th at 6pm

Learn why and how the boundaries for the Alameda County Board of Supervisors and the CA Assembly and Senate could change to reflect 2020 census results. Learn how to participate in drawing new district lines that keep your community's voices strong and unified.
 
Register online to attend LWV of Oakland's Redistricting Explainer. The presentation will begin with the state and county processes. If you are not an Oakland resident, you may leave when the conversation turns to districts within Oakland.
 

Health Reform & Social Justice: Opportunities for Reducing Inequity and Addressing Health Disparities

LWV Davis Area presents an Evening with Dr. Susan Rogers, President, Physicians for a National Health Plan (PNHP)

October 6th, 6-8PM

Dr. Rogers’s presentation will include an overview of the U.S. health care system through a social justice lens, followed by a discussion highlighting disparities resulting from our current policies and opportunities to improve inequities through health reform. The forum will conclude with an audience Q&A.

Tomorrow! Join the San Francisco and Bay Area Community Organized March for Reproductive Justice. This is a San Francisco/ Bay Area Community Organized 1st Amendment March by local activists and multiple community organizers including LWV of San Francisco.

 
 

 Drive Clean-a-Thon
October 16th or 20th

The most important step a typical California resident can take to reduce carbon emissions is to switch to an electric vehicle. The Drive Clean-a-Thon is co-sponsored by LWV of California and Drive Clean California. The event will be presented multiple times for your convenience. Come and invite your friends and family!
