LWVP Awards a $500 scholarship to a  high school senior who exhibits a strong commitment to civic engagement as selected by the PHS Civics teachers.

Isadora (Izzy) Grimmer received this year's LWVP Civics in Action Award. The following statement is from one of Izzy's PHS teachers, Ms. Hayley Adams.

Ms. Adams had Izzy as a student for three years in a PHS leadership class, and she really wowed everyone in her efforts beyond just her academic career. Some of the things she did in her years at PHS was create a school wide presentation about redlining in the Bay Area, worked with fellow peers with consent workshops, and student stress workshops, and her most impressive feat was through her creation of Flo Club--with a mission to get free menstruation productions to all students on campus. She successfully installed free dispensers in every bathroom on our campus. Beyond that, Izzy is a fantastic friend, leader, and community presence. She worked continuously to make everyone feel included, connected, and heard. She is now off to go to SDSU in the Fall to study Business Management.

Join us in congratulating Izzy on her achievements!
